Surgical First Assistant?

  1. 0 Has anyone considered, want to be, or have experience in being a First Assistant as a APRN or RNFAs? I have been shadowing a PA for a little while in the OR and I am really interested in her position and it is something I would like to consider doing in the future. Most FAs are PAs (atleast in the region that I am in) but I am curious if anyone is considering that direction as an NP?

I've worked with a number of FNPs that first assisted in surgery. Most worked with Ortho but one was with a neuro surgeon.
Of course, besides first assisting, they see patients in the clinic and round on inpatients.
