Well got the grades about 1 week ago after calling the assistant director...am paying it for it now as on unit 3, (which I worked very hard on) was issued a C, "not enough blackboard posts"...well feel the same way just want to go off on them but staying professional....actually think the C maybe was a bit of retaliation there for me complaining, but 7 weeks is a long time....

Yes. There are a lot in the cohorts..The capstone consists of a rather large research paper and then writing about the implementation of the research. Some topics I know that we're covered are the NP role in decreasing obesity, Dm, chf readmissions, stroke prevention and reducing hospital readmissions rates from nursing homes. I used the APA manual chapter 2 I think on how to write a morificecript. In NP 802, the syllabus said it should be at least 25 pages. Most I heard about had theirs in the 30's.

Hi playboyesquiere,

Could you tell us how NP 601 Physical Assessment is structured if it is taken on campus? Is it all lecture and quizzes or are you still required to submit research papers/reports?

Thanks in advance.

Greetings,

I see you attend Saint Joseph's FNP program.

I am currently a MSN. I am looking to pursue the FNP at SJCM beginning in September or October.

I would love to talk with you regarding your experience there. I see that the program is an independent study program. Which is similar to the progam I finished at Aspen University.

My biggest concern with an online program is what type of teaching/learning methods are utilized - namely, are there any interactive, engaging methods being used - i.e, pre-recorded lectures, power points with voice, MP3 files, discussion boards, collaborative group assignments, webnairs, virtual simulations, or interactive video modules?

Did you find the course work to be engaging, comprehensive, and useful or was it a bunch of "busy" work?

Where the textbooks truly relevant and useful? Expensive or reasonable?

Where your professors accessible and responsive? Were the instructors PhDs or Masters prepared?

Would you say the course work truly prepared you for your role as FNP or did you have to constantly seek additional sources to fill in the gaps?

How long did it take you to complete the course?

Lastly, did you feel prepared to sit for the national exam?

Your insights would be MOST appreciated.

Peace and greetings.

Hey,

Does anyone know the books that are required for Pharmacology NP 602? I got delayed signing up due to my grade not being posted for patho and currently waiting to get the conformation email for the class but wanted to get ahead a bit and order the books. Thanks so much!!

I don't specifically remember the name of the pharm book, but you can always go to the bookstore website and search by course number! Good luck. I just started my adult theory and the textbooks are a little overwhelming.

Hi..

For anyone who has completed NP Assessment 601. I know previously people have mentioned the class has a ton of work. In trying to get a ball park of when I will start clinicals I am trying to see how long the class will realistically take. 8 weeks unrealistic? I appreciate the feedback!!

Hey all just wanted to let you know everyone in my clinical cohort passed boards on first try. 5 took aanp and 1 took ANCc.
