South University FNP MSN program???

So did anyone or is anyone currently in the FNP or Adult NP online program at this time? I spoke to an admissions rep and was really impressed. The set up is nice with one course at a time, although was told you can talk to your advisor and sometimes layer your courses here and there as well (like an 11wk course with one 5.5 wk course) which I'd prefer to do to get done faster...since I did my ASN at Excelsior and am finishing my BSN I'm well used to online format courses and have my time down to a science. I was planning on beginning my application process now, so that in December we submit everything with the potential to start the first week of Feb 2014...anyone else??? Any thoughts???

dc4now,

I did double up Patho and Theory (just finished week 2) -- There are no weekly papers on Theory. However, there's a big one due on Wk.3, group project on Wk.4, one one more after... Patho is tough! Very science-driven with tons of details. Weekly quiz, midterm and final. So far, I'm doing well but it is tough!!! APA will become second nature by the time you finish the first class. Papers get a little tougher on content and you won't even think of APA...

I would advise you to weigh in family, job, and how well you do on your first class before doubling up. If your job is really demanding and you're not doing well in your first class, consider being safe and don't overload yourself. Best of luck!

Hi JMHana! I am interested in going to South University for my post graduate FNP. I have a few questions about the program and would also like to join your Facebook page.

EJN, so that doubling up put you where exactly? In other words how much does that shorten the time of the program and how many more you need to double up on (or can you double up anymore?)

I would like it too please :)

Hello future_arnp, I am starting the South University FNP program Nov. 30 2015 and saw that you are just starting soon too. I wondered if you would like to be scared buddies LOL. If you know of any groups/pages anything that might help, I would sure appreciate any and all help and I am more than happy to share anything I learn as well. I am SO WORRIED about finding a clinical site for practicals. Oh well, GOOD LUCK. Thanks so much, Brenda

Hi! I would love to be "scared buddies" lol. Wow you start soon! I start in January. I'm very excited but nervous. I need all the buddies I can get lol. Where do you live? I'm in Florida. I would love to keep in touch and hear about how things are going with you throughout the program. I'm very new to this site and am still figuring it all out. Looking forward to hearing from you!

Can you please PM me the Facebook link as well. I start the NP program at South University soon.
