Is there anyone planning to start SU next year sometime online for FNP? If so I would love to join a study group to make this experience less stressful. I will be moving to the Atlanta area in a couple of months. Is there anyone near Atlanta enrolled or enrolling next year?

I have been accepted in January cohort but I am doing the online option since I am in New Jersey

I want to do the online also. I haven't submitted my application yes was debating. What do you think of the school? I like the clinical time and the flexibility.

I actually got an AS there in Allied health to get my RN pre-reqs done. Their online classes were really tough, they expect a high level of work, which is great but you get very little direction (from talking to people who have attended other online schools this seems to be the norm). I did not like how quickly some of the classes were, I felt like I crammed them instead of learned. Overall though I am happy I went here and I was accepted to a Cal Sate University nursing program, they took all my credits but chem (it didn't have a lab) but they let me redo it there. It is expensive though and I had a hellish, horrible time dealing with my "advisor" and my "financial aid counselor". It was so bad that for a long time it just made me hate the school. But as I've gotten some distance I've been able to separate that from the good.

Wow. See that's what is making me nervous. This rush on classes. How can you do advance pathophysiology and other advance classes in 5 weeks and feel like you got what you need to get out if it? Confused. I don't want this to turn into a money pit

I peeked at the homepage for the the online, it seems very organized and first couple of classes don't require clinical so you could be fine with the flexiblity. It depends on you if you can organize your time on your own, and if you don't live near the campus they let you pick clinical sites near where you live. We actually have to find our own, but they may give tips on how to find them

I just hope I can get a education that's affordable but at the end of the day worth whatever the tuition maybe. Don't need a fancy name just quality education and pass boards.

Honestly I think it's going to be what you put into it and you will have to review things even after the class is over. But I think anyone who attends an online school, a school with hybrid classes, with short classes or a combination of these needs to ask themselves a few questions: can I commit to this level of work? Can I remove distractions (fb, going out with friends etc)? Am I truly comfortable learning a lot in a short time? Am I committed to self teaching and scheduling? Am comitted enough to review the material after the class is over? If you can say yes to all you should be fine.

I got my BSN online and I did what I had to do but the information and level of specialty has me worried about the same school I attend. Wish I knew.

I am attending SU in January and all of the clinicals and the three P's (Patho, Physical Asses and Pharm) are 11 week courses. Congratulations on your acceptance to the program.

I'm not going to apply to start until around March since we are relocating in January
