Simmons College versus University of Cincinnati FNP Program

I am applying to both programs, but i just wanted some feedback from anyone who has applied or is attending either of these programs.

I really love that Simmons College has actual classes and that it is very interactive. My only concern is that this will conflict with my work schedule. I work Tuesday through Friday 8-5 and would like to keep my same schedule the first year. I understand that come clinical time I will most likely have to cut back to three days a week. My advisor has told me that I can take night classes but I am afraid that as the program goes on there may be classes during my work schedule. I just wanted to know if anyone has had any experience with this, and how you are enjoying the online program.

University of Cincinnati is more asynchronous and more affordable. $34,000 versus $58,000. I have had a good experience with the advisor thus far but wanted to hear back from anyone who is attending the program and their actual opinions on it.

Any feedback on either program would be much appreciated!

I work M-F days and school is working out fine for me so far. I do have to take off a couple of hours early once a week for class due to my class time. I dont know what I am going to do when I start clinicals. Between 16 hours of clinicals, 2-3 classes per semester and work, I know that I will have to cut way back on work hours.

Simmons offers an MSN with FNP specialization. That is the only NP track available.

I started with Simmons for the May 2014 cohort.. Im loving it thus far.. Learning so much but be prepared to do lots of reading.. I work 3 noc 12s, so i get to read during my downtime at work.. But despite of that, still need to do lots of catching up when i get home.. It is doable, but you really need to stay committed.. I have a friend who started at chamberlain, he says its like hes not learning anything at all, he started in March, so 3months and he still feels that way.. I have only been a month with Simmons and i have learned so much already.. The price is almost half in difference.. So if you want quality, id say pay more and go for Simmons.. Im happy i did :)

Does anyone have advice on the Simmons On-campus bsn-fnp program?! I've found loads of reviews about the online program, but nothing about the on campus one. From my research it seems great (18 mons full time = FNP) but I would love to hear from someone who actually went there. Can anyone help?!! Thanks!!

Anyone?

What would you like to know?

I'm applying for the May 2015 cohort and I'm extremely nervous. What are your thoughts on doing a shorter program that costs more money or a longer program that costs you less. Im just nervous about the tuition?

Hello Tasha, thank you for all you do. Are you almost done?

The traditional Simmons program is top-notch; one of the most respected program in a prestigious medical area.

BostonFNP did you do it online? I read lots of your comments from few years ago. is the tuition price worth it? Please advise. Thank you

BostonFNP, IT looks like you are a DNP. Congratulation.
