I would like to get an opinion from nurse practitioners (FNPs) that went to a school in the different state than their job location. Do you think it mattered whether a prestegious titled nursing graduate school made big difference in getting a job?

My dilemma is that I got into a school that is (ranking wise) in the top 100 and got rejected from a school that is in the top 3. I was limited to where I could apply since I have a contract with the hospitals currently to stay with them for 2 years. I'm trying to determine if I want to re-apply after I'm finished with the 2 year contract to schools out-of-state.

If going to a more prestegious school makes a difference, I was thinking of replying. Any opinions/ experience would be greatful in helping me make a decision. Thanks!

In my opinion it doesn't matter the school you went to. I'm fairly certain this topic has been addressed already somewhere in the forum. You could search for more info...I went to school in one state and took my first job out of that state. My experience is the employer wants to make sure you can do your job. Part of that means passing your boards and becoming licensed wherever you want to practice. So long as you meet the requirements to test and receive licensure then you should be fine.
