A friend of mine just took and passed his PMHNP boards. He used the Lantern Review to prep and felt this review most closely resembled the board questions and it was a lot less expensive than other options.

I have a question for you regarding your program. I noticed that you went to . I'm currently enrolled in a brick and mortar PMHNP program and looking to transfer to an online one. I had a lot of issues with my patho class and I'm not impressed with the faculty unfortunately. But I saw on the Drexel schedule that you have some days when you have to appear on campus. Is that for the whole semester or is it just for a day or 2? Unfortunately I live in Pgh and I wouldn't be able to up root for a semester or 2. Any input appreciated.

Dear TheIncredible, NP,

congrats on passing your boards! I wish you all the best in your career

I am an ICU nurse accepted to 2 PMHNP (online) programs at Stonybrook and . I need to decide asap where to attend. Since you went to Drexel, i wanted to get your feedback if you don't mind. Did you enjoy Drexel? any cons? has anyone ever dropped/kicked out? i have never done an online degree so i was curious if they help you/check up on you along the way or are you exclusively on your own? is Drexel recognizable in the job market? its substantially more expensive than Stonybrook.

Thank you!

After not passing the PMHNP certification initially, I took the Lantern Review PMHNP Exam Prep that was very helpful with me successfully passing the certification May 2018. I've been on both sides not passing and then passing. Additional study material included: PMHNP pocket prep (excellent resource), Fitzgerald & Barkley's CDs (purchased off Amazon), memorable psychopharmacology YouTube videos (excellent review of short videos), ANCC PMHNP certification review book (as well as the free questions on their site and the back of the book), and most of all praying!!! By the grace of God I am PMHNP-BC. If I could help anyone moving forward please don't hesitate to reach out to me.

Hello. I'm preparing for the PMHNP exam, expect to take it in a few weeks. I ordered Barkley & Associates PMHNP Certification Review from Amazon (cheaper). The vendor Nurse Practitioner, stated all codes etc were included. Everything I received was literally brand New. It wasn't until I got toward the back of the book "Online Streaming Video Chapters", that I realized I could not access this online chapter as one needs to use a link included in the email sent from Barkley. Despite pleading with Barkley personnel, since I didn't purchase directly from Barkley, I cannot get the link, not even if I offer to pay. I contacted the vendor nearly 10 days ago and still no response. Has anyone purchased the 2017 Barkley PMHNP course/CD and is willing to share their link? I'm so anxious about taking this exam, and if this chapter is not accessible to me I will feel unprepared. I have also used some of the other suggested reviews and questions but want to to complete the Barkley course. Thank you for any help you can provide.

I'm not sure if you ever decided on which school to attend but I'm attending now for PMHNP and I must say if you pass this school you will be ready for the boards

I decided to use Board Vitals after reading the initial post, and so glad that I did. I found the board vital questions to be more difficult clinically than the actual exam, but it brought up content information that I wasn't familiar with. Yes, I went to an awesome mortar school, but not every program can cover every topic, especially when dealing with QI, roles and issues. I was so anxious that I was considering hiring a therapist prior to taking the exam in June of 2018. Thankful that I passed the first time, because I don't know that I have it in me to take that ugly, hateful exam again. Not so much difficult as much as draining. And the ANCC test taking strategies that you buy on their website for I think 30 or 40 dollars is essential.

I passed September 4th, 2018 and used Mometrix questions book, PMHNP pocket prep (exam builder per category), Barkeley CDs, ANCC test IQ, and ANCC book.

I studied for 2-3 weeks before the exam and 1-2 hours months before.

I gave birth during my 4th semester to my second child. Everything is doable. Test taking skill is very helpful especially through the ANCC.
