Passed the AANP!!!!!

I just took the test about 2 hrs ago and the preliminary report said passed. I used Fitzgerald review CD's her review book and Leik's review book.

Honestly for me the Fitzgerald review helped in that it helped me with critical thinking....it's not about memorizing. You have to know the disease process, medications etc. The questions are not going to be straight forward...maybe a few...but for most you do have to think. Therefore you have to have an understanding of the material and how to apply it.

I cannot say that it was so easy, I found some questions difficult some easy and most in between. There were questions that I had absolutely no idea what the answer was and I guessed. Apparently I did well as I passed.
    I'm sooo excited.

Congratulations! I know you must be so happy. I graduate in December 2011, so I've got that to look forward to. Have you got a job yet?

congratulations second....that is being referred to a lot, the Fitzgerald CD's and review
think I'm going to use the above when the time comes...I really can not afford
the expensive review programs...do you think the review program is necessary?

I have been a ANP since 2004 but at that time the exam wasn't necessary to get my license. I decided to get it now because I need to get a Medicare pin# and certification is one of the requirement to get a pin #.

Congratulations! I passed on June 21, and I felt the EXACT same way. I studied for weeks, and I completely agree that memorization is not the key. I used Amelie Hollier for basic facts, and Margaret Fitzgerald for critical thinking...a perfect pairing in my opinion.

I used the Fitzgerald CDs and went to the course, and honestly: they are IDENTICAL (same jokes, same material). I would suggest the CDs if you want to split the cost with classmates. Otherwise, I think it is only $250 for the online seminar, which is a live recording of a seminar that you can pause, as well as watch twice. They send you the handbook that was the only live course benefit I can think of.

Totally agree with her...I bought the CD's and the review book. The are one in the same. I reviewed the CD's a out 3 times and then the book. I tried the opposite and felt like I couldn't figure out the questions...but once I listed to the CD's and then the book it was much easier.

You have to know how to think critically.
