Hey FUTURE Fall 2011 FNP students,

I applied to TWU Denton campus and UTA for both of their FNP programs. I wish to attend Fall 2011. I haven't heard back from either of them on whether I've gotten accepted.

Has anyone applied to these schools for the FNP program fall 2011?

Has anyone applied to ANY SCHOOL for the fall 2011 and heard back yet? IF so, what schools? And what are you going to do to "prepare" before August?

I'm excited about going back to school. I hope I get accepted! I want to hear from the NEW FALL 2011 FNP STUDENTS!!

I was accepted to George Washington University's fnp program for the fall. Trying to decide if I go part time and keep working or go full time and quit my job. Not loving my job right now, but feel really guilty about leaving but could probably continue to work PRN if I wanted. (And if I don't upset my supervisor too much, she wrote me an awesome reference.) I am worried if I will be able to handle the work load no matter what option I choose!

Congratulations to everyone!

CONGRATULATIONS!!!

I got in at Western U of Health Sciences NP program for this fall. Very excited to be starting!

I'm starting clinicals for Adult NP-Geron in the fall at The University of South Alabama. So excited! I was FNP and decided this semester it wasn't for me so I switched. I'm desperate to get back to school. LOL. Bored out of my mind!

Specializes in ER, Home Health, Nursing Home.

Hi missvictoriat,

I will also be starting the FNP program in the Fall. I live in MS, so I will be attending Alcorn State University. The program is mostly online, with a few meetings on campus. The things I have been doing to get prepared for the Fall is: Completed the FAFSA form, search for scholarships, trying to find a part-time/prn job because I really want to focus on school and therefore cut back on working, I have really relied on allnurses.com to give me an idea as what to expect in the program. I have also been trying to locate a good source to buy my books. I am really thinking about renting my textbooks to save money, but purchase the ones I may need as a reference later on. I am also very excited to start this new adventure. Maybe we can keep in touch, because I am quite sure we both will need the support. I don't know how to PM yet.:yeah::yeah: Congratulations!!

HEY SOON2BFNP!

By the way, I love your username! Very MOTIVATING!! CONGRATS on getting accepted to Alcorn State! I totally agree with you. I've been relying on allnurses.com for a lot of insight into FNP programs as well. I've completed my FASFA, but I definitely need to look for scholarships. Are you going to go to school FULL TIME OR PART TIME? I'm going part-time and working FULL-TIME. I want to concentrate on school, but I have too many bills to pay! LOL. I feel like in my last year of FNP school (once I start clinicals), then I will go part-time at my job. But hopefully I can handle classes right now and work. I need to enroll in my classes and speak with my advisor on which classes to take. It seems like the for the most part they are MOSTLY online. Have you decided which classes you are taking in the Fall? I agree with you about renting textbooks and buying the ones you may need to reference later. GREAT IDEA! But where do you RENT textbooks? I'm going to buy the ones I might need to reference from AMAZON. I love their website. AND YESS! WE should definitely keep in touch!!

So you changed from FNP to ANP? Interesting. Are you going PART-TIME OR FULL-TIME? Why were you bored? Was it the classes or your clinical rotations? What was the deciding factor that made you switch paths?

Specializes in ICU.

But where do you RENT textbooks?

Missvictoriat,

To rent textbooks google textbook rental but a couple that I have used is textbookrental.com or chegg.com

Specializes in ER, Home Health, Nursing Home.

missvictoriat,

I rented several of my books for Undergrad at collegebookrenter.com. You can rent for 30,60, 90 days or a full semester. The prices were very reasonable. That is why I am eagerly awaiting my booklist, so that I can go ahead and start pricing/buying the books.
