I couldn't agree with you more about APA or emphasis on paperwork in general. I would love if all programs focused more on the clinical aspect. I could see if your MA was in research or teaching in nursing. However, from the info I've done all MA programs are set up this way. I'm new to online learning and very anxious in general to start South. My advisor has expressed to me, all instructors will provided feedback prior to deducting points and are readily available. Also, a tutoring section where you can have your paper reviewed prior. Are you not finding this to be true?

Cardnation, as with most online programs, South offers free writing tutors. You upload your paper and they will provide feedback on syntax, grammar, etc. so you can make corrections. Also, when you upload your paper in the class, it goes through TurnItIn. You get the results within 20 minutes, and you can review the results, make citation/reference, plagiarism found, corrections, and resubmit your paper. This can be done up to the point the instructor grades your paper. Most instructors will provide feedback and if you had a great deal of trouble, will allow you to resubmit a corrected paper from their feedback. Hope this helps.

I wish you well, freedomrn1. I hope you find their program more to your liking. I have started my first practicum course with SU. Very full schedule, but expect to learn a lot. Do have 1 online mid-term and 1 online final in this class. We have 60 hours of clinicals, so easily done at 1 day per week, the rest of the practicums are 180 hours. There are only 8 of us per class, and four of us have been in most of the classes together so we have a tight bond already. EXCITED!!!!

Awesome news! I am so happy for you. You have been an enormous help. I am still enrolled thus far, but seriously examining Herzing. I have at least 5 of my fellow BSN graduates in their program and they are all doing extremely well while juggling busy lives. Although a robust program, there appears to be a subtle shift of ease compared to South's program and the same exact program will be completed in 20 months inclusive of clinical which occurs concurrent with didactic courses. Admissions appears slightly more selective, having a one and half hour phone interview with the director of admissions yesterday. Reviewing their material that I have received, I am impressed with the amount of resources they provide for clinical preceptorship. With the 2 courses that will be under my belt by March, which are transferrable, I should be slated to finish in 18 months compared to this 28 month program. Additionally, there is flexibility in the program to participate at a slower pace - there are 2 other timeline tracks and you can move from one track to the other without penalty. The tuition is slightly more, but not a discernible issue for me and there is a scholarship of 2000 dollars for FT students (1000 for PT) that I was encouraged to partake in. They also offer discounts to military they said. The upside, is it is not a Pearson elearning format which as you know by now, is not a favorite learning platform of mine. Your the best!

Apparently I have been accepted? I got a call from my academic advisor, pressuring me to go over policies with him. I was confused, since I was unaware that I had been accepted. I still have not received any notification. The whole process has been a little odd. I feel like I am buying a used car. I have been accepted to another school, and waiting to hear from two others. I want to make a decision after I have heard from all the schools. I feel rushed. Can anyone give insight about the school and FNP program. If it is anything like the admission process I'm not getting a good feeling. I do not want to choose a school based on just that aspect. Keeping an open mind any information would be greatly appreciated.
