Oh, no! ...I wasn't implying that at all! I am in no position to judge, just in the same boat as you and suggesting what I tell myself - stop thinking about it and just do it
:wink2: What makes you want to go to school in SC? I'll be out of state too.
If you're applying for next spring you should be hearing soon..best of luck! please keep me updated:wink2:
  2. I have some family down there and my best friends from college moved down 5 yrs ago - the program is exactly what i am looking for and it's right in Charleston. The passing rate for graduates of this program is very high and i want to stay down there when i'm finished. Many other reasons, but these are the ones that really stand out.

I am applying for Spring 2010, so I will be submitting my application within the next week or so. Regardless, i will be moving down in January.

Keep me updated with you as well! best of luck to both of us!
  3. I am an applicant for spring start. Does anyone know what the schedule is like first semester??? I am a stay at home dad right now while I work on prereqs and we are trying to figure out daycare for when(yeah I wish I were that confidant) IF I get in.
  4. I think it is funny that this thread is still around I graduate in Dec., yay! As far as the first semester schedule goes, it is really crazy. Most weeks, I spent around 50-60 hours a week between commuting/parking, class/clinicals and homework. Some things in your schedule are set like class, labs and clinicals, but there are all kinds of things that come up that you need or want to go to. (Study sessions, test review sessions with your instructor, etc.) If you don't have a friend or family to help with child care, I think it would be really difficult, but not impossible. There are some evening clinicals usually too, so keep that in mind. If you don't like your assigned schedule, generally you can find someone willing to switch with you. Unless things have changed, there is never anything scheduled on the weekends during 1st semester. Other semesters can have weekend clinicals. After 1st semester, you have more time, but it really isn't any easier. But you will be amazed by how much you learn in 16 months. They don't call it accelerated for nothing
  5. I'm starting my 3rd semester now and have a 2-year-old. My hubby works full time but I do have family in the area who make it easier on us. First semester schedule is weird. I did have night clinicals first semester 1 day a week (4 pm - 10 pm) though I'm not sure those are sticking around.

You can bank on being in class Mon-Fri pretty much all day. I did all my studying at home; there weren't many group projects until 2nd semester so I didn't need any outside time other than class time. Everyone's different with their time management; I prefer to study around my daughter's schedule.

There's a few of us in our class with kids - it's hard but you make it work - it's over so fast.
  6. Thanks for the replys. Right now I am staying at home with my girl and going to school at night after my wife comes home. Just trying to figure out what I'll need to do next semester. Sounds like I will need to have her in daycare by then.
  7. Hi,
I was wondering if anyone remembered how long it took to get notified if they got into the nursing program or not. Also, how do they tell you? I applied for Spring 2010 start..so I am hoping around October 15th I will know. I am so nervous.
  8. Spring 2010 applicants....anyone heard anything yet? I know we still have a few weeks, but the suspense is killing me! I swear, I'm more nervous this time around then when I was a senior in high school!! haha! Good Luck everyone!
  9. I haven't heard anything. I sent MUSC an email and they said they had about 215 applicants. I really REALLY hope I get in. Do you already have your bachelors? I don't. I am a pre-nursing major at my school right now and I applied to a few different programs. I get the feeling that a lot of people that apply to this school already have their bachelors.
  10. oh they also said that we would hear something around the end of october...that is so long to wait. i am hoping that is october 15thish because i can't wait any longer!
