Remember no matter where you go someone will get great delight in passing on rumors or actual falsehoods about other people and places.

Hey I went to Carolina. Did you hear the one about Clemson.......see what I mean? I've heard good things about both Lander and PTC.... And Midlands Tech, and USC Upstate.....and......hey they're preparing this next generation of nurses and we Nurses need to stick together and not be so divisive.

Where ever you go, it serves you well to be loyal to your school and express NO bad feelings about others.

Hello, iam A Nursing Student Atpiedmont Tech In Laurens, but Will Transfer In Dec. To Greenwood, I Would Like To Work In The Feild Now, Somepeople Say Do Cnaor Ptc But I Dont Know Which Way To Go..can You Help..any One...

Have you had Nursing Fundamentals yet? That would probably be a qualifier for Nursing Tech. If not CNA would get you a job, but I'm not sure that would really be helpful in school.

You should have a faculty advisor. Check on that, because they can really save you time and money by telling you the courses you need and the order you need to take them.

Hey Lisabug96,

I think that was smart to take the CNA class first. I was in the LPN program at PTC. I didn't know that LPN claases were mini-term and having taken the CNA classes will have you greatly prepared. There were tons of CNAs in my class and they seemed to do better and answer more questions correctly. I was telling classmates that the CNA certification should be a requirement and just as I said, now it is. Most of all, do not give the teachers what they want and withdraw from classes. Trust me, you'll regret it later. One teacher did tell us that only 14 students had graduated from the previous class and said that 14 students is always better than having to teach 35. Just stay motivated. If this is what you want, you've already made a start so go for it. If you feel like giving up, remember all of the reasons why you shouldn't.

By the way, does PTC offer financial assistance for taking the CNA class?

Hello, I just transferrd to greenwood Piedmont Tech from laurens I am in the ADN program 1st year...:roll :roll :saint:

Iam in the CNA program now and it has helped me alot... any advice would be helpful...someone told me that the waiting list for the ADN program was very long so they were transfeering to Lander..shorter waiting list..

For those that are waiting to get into the ADN program at PTC have you thought of going to Lander? I am currently a nursing student at Lander and they have no waiting list and they accept new students every semester

Hi Carla I am freshman @ PTC in the ADN program. Everything has gone well so far. Good luck with school.

I was reading earlier postings and was wondering how school was going for you. You should be about through right? I am a May 2006 graduate of the ADN program. Am a L&D nurse and love it. Nursing program at PTC was the hardest thing I ever did and I was an A student the first time I went to PTC for the Medical Assisting Program 18 years ago. We started out with 29 students and out of those, 5 (original students)passed at the end....what does that tell you? We did have instructors that were biased and passed those they liked and made it harder on all of us each semester. The cumulative ERI's changed to ATI's which were very difficult and then they just started with the SIMS man right before we graduated...so many changes took place in the program while we were going through it which made it more difficult. However, we made it and you will too.

Much luck with your nursing career!:balloons:

Actually I am almost done, I will graduate in May 2008, I had to take a semster off because of a illness in my family, so it pushed me back one semster.
