I suppose you want everyone kids and grandkids to have social security as well. Look how well funded that is going to be. You can have great health care if you don't get pregnant at 14 stay off drugs get an education and don't vote democrat. Otherwise healthcare for all will be like Cuban health care for all.

We could do a lot worse than "Cuban health care for all." They spend a tiny fraction per capita of what the US does on healthcare, provide care to everyone in the country, and have outcomes nearly as good, or better than, ours (an even more impressive accomplishment when you consider that the US has been doing everything it can to strangle them economically for the last 40 years).

One thing I think is this.....whether we want this change or not, its gonna happen. Those of us that got into nursing programs to earn $100,000/year and not give a crud about humanity are going to be shuck outta luck!

Those of us that got into nursing to care for others and help our patient then a small paycut here and a little tax hike there should be no problem!! It will take adjustment just like anything else and we will hate it for a minute or two, but just like Canada.....we will love it eventually.

I think President Obama is awesome and his healthcare plan will rock! Of course, he will get a lot of flack from those in financial power that care more about the almighty dollar then those pregnant 14 year olds!

I have some news for everyone. This should come as no surprise- the AMA is single payer system that does not include the insurance companies. Surprise, surprise.

White House to Host Primetime Televised ‘Conversation’ On Health Care June 24
ABC News

ABC News’ Rick Klein reports: President Obama’s health care push will continue next week with a primetime event at the White House, with ABC’s Charlie Gibson and Diane Sawyer set to moderate a nationally televised event called

“Questions for the President: Prescription for America.” The president will answer questions offered by audience members “selected by ABC News who have divergent opinions in this historic debate,” as well as some submitted via ABCNews.com, according to the press release announcing the event.

The special edition of “Primetime” will air from the White House on Wednesday, June 24, at 10 pm ET. “Good Morning America,” “World News,” “Nightline,” and ABCNews.com’s “Top Line” will all feature special programming on the president’s health care agenda.

Diane Sawyer will have an exclusive interview with President Obama airing Wednesday on “Good Morning America.”
ABC has also responded to Republican whining about the broadcast here.

Here's my concern about this "event."

I remember how well we were served by corporate media in the run-up to the Iraq War. Follow the money is always a good rule of thumb.

Fox caught with its pants down on ABC attacks

There is something extra delicious about hearing Karl Rove and Faux talking heads whining about ABC's "unprecedented" access to the White House, then showing clips of Faux News bragging about THEIR "unprecedented access" to the (Bush) White House.

Watch Faux News hypocrisy.

There is a clear difference between what fox did with bush and what ABC is doing. ABC is giving Obama the stage to push his very controversial health care plan on prime time TV so that he can get more support for it and quickly push it through the congress. It is hard to argue that this is not bordering on unethical/conflict of interest by ABC. One of the media's purpose is to keep the gov't in check. This is the exact opposite.

Wow, objections straight out from the RNC press release. The special is not an infomercial for the Obama administration. The special will include a town hall style Q&A with an audience picked by ABC, not the White House. It also hasn't aired yet, so prejudging it as biased only reveals yours.
