And that's what you want to move to. Will you be able to sue your government? You can sue an insurance company. And probably win. There is fraud yes. But when an entity knows about it and does nothing that is unexcusable.

And because the government condones fraud that's why they shouldn't be in any business. Look at what they've allowed in Fort Hood Texas. A man with a poor performance review, ranting against the US ARMY and then being allowed to take care of our soldiers. Yeah that's a great government.

Blaming, "the government" for the attrocities at Fort Hood is a bit too much I think. It's a cheap way to make a weak point.

The Major was employed by this government. Who should know about his performance and ability to do his job?

I don't believe the 13 families suffering believe it's a cheap way. Not to count the 31 other families of the injured.

That is the contention in this debate. The government isn't qualified to run any program. Effectively.

The debate isn't reform. The debate is the best way to effect that reform.

The very fact that you brought the Fort Hood travesty up in a debate about Medicare is really innapropriate, in my opinion.

Medicare has problems, and obviously the fact that we were defrauded out of 60 billion is something that needs to be fixed.

But, Medicare is very popular amongst seniors. They consistently show that they are happier with Medicare than their under 65 counterparts. It runs cheap too, at 3% overhead. No private insurance company can make that claim.

I, for one, would like to see it expanded to cover everyone.

The Major's job had nothing to do with shooting US personnel. His job was counseling personnel and he'd been doing that job for some time. He got a poor performance review. That should have motivated him to improve his work performance or at least let him know that he was not meeting expected standards.

I'm glad he's alive and hope that the investigators will be able to piece together a clear picture of his motivation.

I'm glad he's alive. I'm into "loving my neighbor". The Major's job put him in contact with other soldiers. He wouldn't have been able to bring firearms onto that base as a civilian.

So when we get a poor performance review it's up to us to correct it. The employer has no interest in our improvement.

So do you think the government should not run the military?

I think rather than disband the military or getting rid of Medicare WE THE PEOPLE through our government need to do all we can to prevent wrongdoing and arrest those who break the law.
