Bottom line, Obama (and Many Dem Congressman ) ran and won on the health care reform wagon, if they don't deliver, there will be problems to say the least.
Yes, it IS ok for lobbyists to lobby our lawmakers. If a lawmaker has any integrity, the lobbyist is wasting his/her time. As we all know, integrity is in short supply in Washington, DC. Obama and the democrats will not deliver. They are in the pockets of the lobbyists as well. Some of you folks remind me of Charlie Brown. Still running up to kick the football, thinking that Lucy won't pull it away this time...

Well, that is a hard question because almost all groups have people who lobby for them in Washington.

Heck, California Nurses Association has a large lobbying arm.

There is a lobby for loggers (of course no one listens to us).

Farming.

Health Care.

Environmental groups.

Mission Organizations.

I think there should be limits on gifts given . .but no limits on speech.

And get rid of McCain/Feingold.

And hold those without the integrity mentioned above . .accountable.

Sorry, the above post is mine. The elected officials who accept this lobby money are doing nothing but accepting bribes. That is all it is, or hush money. JMHO and my NY $0.02.

You certainly can read a lot into one sentence. What is tomorrow's lottery number going to be? Lobbyists mean absolutely nothing if the legislators are doing the will of the people. Keep sending self-serving idiots to Washington and they will continue to feather their own nests. Want health care reform? Put the entire congress on whatever plan the rest of us are on.

A sentence can say a lot. You basically said that you hope the lobbyists are succesful in stopping health care reform. If that's the way you feel, then don't be upset when the lobbyists prevent (or try to prevent) some piece of legislation that you hoped for, and voted for.
Lobbying is a lawyers word for bribery, and last I checked it was illegal to bribe a public official. I agree that the Congress and the people should be on the same plan, it's called single-payer.

Okay then, I suppose the only alternative is to accept that all of our politicians are corrupt, and quit voting all together. If Obama does not get health reform passed, he will not get my vote in 2012. I'd be willing to bet, that the other 52% of the nation that voted for him, feels similar.

We need to put the screws to Sen's. Baucus, Landrieu, Conrad, Snowe, and Collins to make sure that they fulfill their duty to pass effective health care reform.

Healthcare reform would be putting the rest of us on the plan Congress is on.

While most American citizens are listening to the "pitchmen" selling us on "reform", read here what's happening:

Hospitals agree to massive "savings" (in other words limiting services) Biden announces today
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn...rticle/2009/07
/06/AR2009070604053.html?hpid=topnews

And behind the scenes, Rahm Emmanuel's brother Ezekial, who is a healthcare advisor, discusses in an article with two others, how to ration limited healthcare services (when it's YOUR parent, or infant, you will probably wonder how this happened):

http://www.thelancet.com/journals/la...137-9/fulltext

(quick subscription required at Lancet to read full article - it's for healthcare)

Healthcare coverage does not equal medical care. Be careful what you wish for. Beware of the pitchman.
