Re: H.R.3200 - America's Affordable Health Choices Act of 2009
Where are all the Insurance Companies that make all the profits?
Do you know that Health Insurance Companies pay around $1.25 to $1.40 vs a Medicare Bill. Do you know that Medcaid pays pennies, in my home state we get one rate around $4K for an appendectomy to bone marrow transplant that cost hundreds of thousands of dollars?
The companies I reviewed United, Aetna, and Tenet all made percentage wise an much lower profit than any other business and they pay taxes.
Also for what I have been hearing and reading there are numerous bills, 3 senate and 2 congressional.
What is concerning for me, what I have heard the President speak, one issue is the cancellation of insurance once a person files a claim, I agree that is wrong, but it is only by his numbers, "20,000 over a couple of years" which is 0.005% of the insured to me does require radical reform.
The president also mentioned that a surgeon can bill 3 times for surgery that went wrong, this is also incorrect. A surgeon is paid a global fee and insurance companies often bridge these admission so insurance companies pay once.
I had the displeasure of buying a car during the cash of clunkers program, I did not have a clunker but a normal transaction which talks an hour was stretch to days due to this program. If the government can't handle a small program like this how are they going to do health care ?
