Nope, just someone trying of paying for a bunch of free loaders. Of course the left doesn't worry about taxes since they don't pay theirs to begin with.

Could you please explain why you believe that the left doesn't pay taxes?

Interesting - on Poverty in the Cities.
City, State, % of People Below the Poverty Level
1. Detroit , MI 32.5%
2. Buffalo , NY 29.9%
3. Cincinnati , OH 27.8%
4. Cleveland , OH 27.0%
5. Miami , FL 26.9%
5. St. Louis , MO 26.8%
7. El Paso , TX 26.4%
8. Milwaukee , WI 26.2%
9. Philadelphia , PA 25.1%
10. Newark , NJ 24.2%

U.S. Census Bureau, 2006 American Community Survey, August 2007

What do the top ten cities (over 250,000) with the highest poverty rate all have in common?

Detroit, MI (1st on the poverty rate list) hasn't elected a Republican mayor since 1961;

Buffalo, NY (2nd) hasn't elected one since 1954;

Cincinnati , OH (3rd)..since 1984;

Cleveland , OH (4th)..since 1989;

Miami , FL (5th) has never had a Republican mayor;

St. Louis , MO (6th)....since 1949;

El Paso , TX (7th) has never had a Republican mayor;

Milwaukee , WI (8th)..since 1908;

Philadelphia , PA (9th)..since 1952;

Newark , NJ (10th)...since 1907.

Einstein once said, 'The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.'

It is the poor who habitually elect Democrats---yet they are still poor...

These are also the 40% or so of our population who receive an 'income tax credit' amounting to a return that is GREATER than they're scheduled FICA.
In other words, these people get back MORE than they paid in, it's a social program designed to offset the tax load on the poor.

Sadly, you ignored the entire post as usual........

When 40% of American workers are below 200% of poverty for income that is hardly freeloading. I would venture to guess that most of those workers have a much more dangerous and physically taxing work environment than most posters on this board.

Taking the high ground as usual a review of core nursing values is in order:

Core nursing values essential to baccalaureate education include human dignity, integrity, autonomy, altruism, and social justice.
As an APN you are held to a higher standard of thinking and behavior.

A huge reason for those poverty levels in MI is because of the auto industry, both directly and indirectly. I live in rural MI and it's the same here. MI is hurting, and a large chunk of those without insurance and/or in poverty were people who DID work, and worked hard, until they lost their jobs and couldn't find others.

I will also say that as a Dem, I pay plenty of taxes. Thinking that all liberals are poor freeloaders is terribly misguided thinking. The WORKING poor are the ones who are really suffering here, and who would benefit from health care reform.

.........EITC is a Milton Friedman idea and was meant as a work support program from the very beginning.......What your comment fails to address is that those eligible for EITC usually pay state, city and property taxes from dollar 1 that they earn. Add in that poverty is the single greatest risk factor for poor health, poor schools and that is a very very high effective tax rate.

The state I live in doesn't have an income tax, and only property owners pay property taxes. Those on TennCare can go to a doctor....free....and get a script for OTC meds....free......they live in section 8 housing.....nearly free, if not outright.....and have all the latest in ipods, big screen TVs....ect...ect...ect...

In life, there are choices. When we institute a mind set of welfare in populations, it becomes a way of life that leads future individuals down the only path they've ever known.

The only way to break the cycle is to stop feeding it. A hand up, help through a degree seeking program....I'm all for it, but a hand out fails the objective, study after study prove this....hell, even Oprah slams 'affirmative action' as reverse discrimination that only helps to feed the welfare mentality.

Ouer system is not perfect but it can be worked with however like any health care money is the limiation,

Attn: CRNA2007

1. Why do you feel the need to make it a left vs. right issue
2. How can you let taxes dictate how you view/treat others
