As I have said before I am against more government involvement in health care. One because I'm not a socialist and two because the government can't seem to do anything right.
So I have a new idea. How about if the government can fix medicare and the VA system, show that they work, stop everyone from losing money with them, make everyone involved happy, then we can seriously look at coverage for everyone.
If they can get a small portion of people covered and do it without problems then maybe they can expand. If the government wants to take over private businesses let us see they can run any business.
Medicare is broke, their reimbursement is a joke and this in turn is hurting the healthcare industry (hospitals, clinics, the whole system).
The VA can't handle it's pt load and turns people away from the system all the time and most of us that are against UHC or single payer are also behind covering all the Vets, after all it's the least we can do for them.
So there you have it. You want more responsibility then prove you can handle what you have.
