Trying to adjust my profile information - page 2
I am not having any luck figuring out how to change my profile information. It's changed and there doesn't seem to be a place where I can change it. Is there an easy way to do this? Thanks... Read More
10:20 amIt just occurred to me that since these new posts are not bumping the thread at all, maybe that is the reason there are no responses to some of the previous posts in this thread.
12:24 pmQuote from caliotter3Yes, this has changed. Previously it was open to enter a value manually but many took advantage of it and added a lot of crap. Whenever someone makes a change in Settings the info will be updated.I just noticed that this info (years of experience) changed for many posters (now it is visible on posts), and for others it is not visible on posts, as before. Some people have exact numbers (48, for example) but the settings function only has increments of five up to thirty. There is no available option for not providing this entry at all, accurate or not. So, this is now mandatory, but only for some?
Quote from caliotter3Search is working as planned. There are forums that are not available on search. For example, the Site Feedback forum is not searchable because it's intended audience is staff. It's non-nursing related. We do know when something is posted here.Additionally, the search function is messed up. I tried to use it to find a recent post and only posts made three years ago were displayed. Then, I clicked on a topic that I did not recognize and found a thread from two years before I joined so I could not have posted in it back then, then another thread where the original starting post was replaced by my particular reply, making it look like I started the thread with my reply.
If you find that it's working on some forums and not others now you know why. (It's only a handful of forums across both allnurses and the breakroom.
Quote from caliotter3This is actualy one of the things that we planned to change. I went ahead and removed the info simply because there is no current way to set as PRIVATE.For a few months now, I have also noticed threads have been moving up in the "daily" que in spite of there being no updated posts to the thread.
NOTE: The display for this personal info on profile pages can be controlled via the PRIVACTY SETTINGS. I still have more things to do in there but by the end of the month it should all be updated.
12:59 pmThanks for responding Joe. Glad to hear there is work going on and not just some mysterious glitch gumming up the works.
5:26 pmYou now have the option to share publicly, keep privately, or share information to a specific group only. The following options are now avaialble under PRIVACY SETTINGS...
- Keep Private
- Make Public
- Registered Members Only
- My Contacts Only
- My Friends Only
What this basically means is that you can hide your profile information (stuff you want your friends access to but not the public domain).
The Keep Private option is for internal purposes. For example, a profile setting may ask if you are a Nurse, Student, or Educator. If you select Nurse we could use this information to personalize your experience here on allnurses.com. (This is something we are definitely going to focus on.)
I hope this helps.
