    And my favorite is how the IV pumps are never infusing properly, ie Alaris pumps that are flashing red or yellow not green. They can figure out how to shut off alarm but can't turn the light to green?

    I took 5 and half years for my ASN, I had to work full time to pay my bills, so I took my time. Now I'm in an RN-BSN program. I was 37 when I graduated. You have plenty of time.

    In MA where I worked as a PCT, we had classes on phlebotomy and ekg's but we never touched IV's or NGT. Again it was in policy and procedure manual.

    Some schools don't pick up everything in a student. I have a coworker who still tells me "the o2 stat was ..." After one year in of a two year degree. I have corrected her before too.

    When I was an aid we had a classroom day for ekg training, it was about 4-6 hrs. Not hard, just something new to learn, which always caused me anxiety.
