I wouldnt say its political but there is no specific protocol they follow...you'll meet people who have finished all their pre reqs with sraight A's and have been in the medical field for years then...

that sounds like a nigthmare. i worked on a floor similiar to that and I almost left nursing because of it. I now work in an icu and I love it! trust me there is so much better(and safer) out there!!...

you need to leave that position before you make a med error or worse.

I am an RN w/an associates degree and I work at MGH they are a great facility to work for and they have never asked me to go get my BSN. Elitist? absolutely not!

having worked at both small community hospital and mgh, i would choose mgh any day over the smaller facility even if the $$ is close.
