  1. question about Candidate Performance Report(CPR)
Per Kaplan, you do NOT have to pass all sections to pass. I also found this on the NCSBN site "The NCLEX is not graded in sections - only overall performance on the exam determines your pass/fail...

Thanks! I don't think it's a Kaplan thing as there is no test we have to take now that we've finished the Live review. It's a Maryland thing. They're just slow. <sigh> More time to study I...

What state are you in if you don't mind me asking? Just curious how you are able to take the NCLEX so soon after graduation.

We aren't able to take the NCLEX until mid-late January at the earliest. :( Not happy about that but nothing I can do.

  6. Done! Time to graduate.
Yup, graduated on Monday but had to spend the rest of the week doing the Kaplan review course which ends tomorrow. If only I didn't sign up for a lot of extra shifts at work. Oh well. Money is nice.

23 days on my end. Still plenty to do until that time. Definitely looking forward to Thanksgiving break though!! Even though it's not much of a "break" from school work, it's enough of a break for me!

My advice, if you're going to work, is to have a job that allows downtime for studying.

  10. UMSON CNL Applicants for Spring 2015
It's hard to rate the program not knowing what other programs are like. I don't regret doing the CNL program but would probably do some things different were I to do it again (like not work) UMSON...

Congrats everyone! While I can't speak to the new curriculum, I CAN speak to the reorganization of classes and it will be much less intense then it used to be. They moved classes around so it's a lot...

When your status changes has nothing to do with whether or not you will be admitted. It's a random process. Until you see your status change, you still can be admitted.

  15. stinky patient pet peeve
What time does clinical start? Apart from reasons stated above, some patients just don't get the care and attention of others for various reasons. Sad but true.

Wish my school was set up the same as your Julesmama. I'd love to not be as busy. The joys of an accelerated entry-level masters program I suppose.

  17. Is 18 patients "the new normal"?
I'm still a nursing student but I am doing my practicum in geropsych. The ratio seems to be 6-7 patients per nurse. I can't even imagine managing all the patients on the unit (max census is 13).
