  2. Getting into nursing school with a mental illness? Is it going to be possible?
"Antipsychotics" are used for many conditions besides psychosis...if that is what helps you, don't be afraid of the medication's classification. Don't give up!

I haven't read all the other comments, but the school's disability department is your friend! They can help find solutions and help you succeed. Of course, you may also need help from a doctor too....

  4. Do I tell my manager?
Personally (and without knowledge of laws, etc.), I wouldn't say a thing. People have to go on medical leave (or days off) for many different medical reasons. Mental illness should be no different.

  7. Anyone do a full-time nursing program part-time?
Thanks for your responses. Financially, I have planned that I won't need to take out loans for the ADN. My long-term goal is to be a psych NP, so it will be a job where I mostly sit and talk...

An F is worse than a W. A few W's won't hurt, but you don't want more than that. Good luck!

  12. If I go for my ASN now, can I go back later to get a BSN?
Yep, you can certainly go back later. My CC has a ASN-to-BSN program with the local university. It is what I'm planning to do....it is much cheaper to go to school at the CC than do it all at the...

  15. Can I be accepted into nursing school?
As you don't have too many credits so far, it won't be that hard to raise your GPA. I say that if nursing is what you want, go for it! Start slowly...maybe only take 1 prereq class and put all your...
