  2. Does your facility allow the floor/unit nurses write up other nurses?
Take it down a few notches, I'm not the one who wrote you up. At my place of employment we do not give bedside report.

  3. Does your facility allow the floor/unit nurses write up other nurses?
Sending a patient to the floor without report regardless of reason is grounds for a write up. I can only guess that the nurse who wrote you up was busy (hence not able to come to phone for report)...

  4. Things you'd LOVE to be able to tell patients, and get away with it.
Once I was in the room speaking with the patient and saw the death grip he had on the buzzer. I did pry it out of his hand while I asked why are your pressing the buzzer? This was a case of forgetful...

  5. Things you'd LOVE to be able to tell patients, and get away with it.
I'd more so like to pull the call bell from the wall when patients abuse it. Ok we have determined you are not in danger, I'll ask the doctor for your sleep aid after he returns from the code. They...

ChitownRn you typed everything I'm going through right now at my place of employment. I however was told it would be easier to get rid of me than the **** poor staff that commit the offenses.

  9. NYS nurse to patient ratio
Hello all! I was wondering how is that NYS does not have a statewide nurse to patient ratio, especially since we have NYSNA? I think it's insane that my ratio can range from 8-11 patients on a given...

 What you said originally was far colder than what you really wanted to say. Had you said the latter she would have tried to justify his behavior. Your original comment just left her dumbfounded.
