Jacksonville University (JU) is a private institution that was founded in 1934. The JU Keigwin School of Nursing is located across the St. Johns River in a riverfront setting in suburban Jacksonville, Florida.

Traditional BSN Program

Jacksonville University Keigwin School of Nursing provides a traditional BSN program that is completed within 28 months.

Veteran BSN Program

Jacksonville University's Veteran BSN Program offers two unique BSN tracks.

Pre-licensure Track (formerly Track 1)

This program is designed for qualified pre-licensure Veterans an opportunity to earn a BSN through either a traditional or second degree option as a full-time, campus-based student.

RN-BSN Track (Formerly Track 2)

This program is designed for licensed, Veteran RNs who would like to complete their BSN off-campus. It is an 18-month accelerated option for the adult education program that includes 10 individual eight-week nursing courses. The total credit hours are 32. There is a requirement of one afternoon-evening class per week, allowing Veteran RNs to stay employed while completing their degree program.

Master of Science in Nursing (MSN)

The Master of Science in Nursing Program prepares students for advanced leadership roles in nursing. The MSN graduate program in nursing prepares students to continue study at the Doctoral level, if they choose.

Online RN-MSN

The Jacksonville University Brooks Rehabilitation College of Healthcare Sciences Keigwin School of Nursing offers a CCNE-accredited, 100% online, RN to MSN program with the focus on students who are working and have active lives.

Faculty members for the Online RN-MSN program also teach in our traditional classrooms and clinical settings.

Do I need a GRE?

Students whose overall undergraduate GPA is above a 3.0 on a 4.0 scale are not required to complete the GRE.

Is the Family Nurse Practitioner/Emergency Nurse Practitioner program online?

No, the FNP/ENP program is a campus based program. The program is a combination of hybrid scheduling and online learning; students are required to meet in person.

Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP)

The Doctor of Nursing Practice is designed for students who would like a leadership position in a health care domain. Doctoral level students gain knowledge across a range of disciplines including nursing, medicine, economics, informatics, education, and health policy with a goal of transforming health care delivery. The Jacksonville University Keigwin School of Nursing offers both a post Master's DNP as well as a BSN to DNP for RNs interested in pursuing FNP certification.

The BSN to DNP/FNP and BSN to DNP/Leadership programs follow the ARNP admissions schedule, therefore only admitting once a year in the fall. This former program is for RNs who would like to obtain FNP certification and complete DNP coursework concurrently. The latter program is for RNs who wish to pursue leadership roles within nursing systems and organizations while completeing DNP coursework.

The Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) accredited the DNP, MSN, and BSN programs at JU.

Jacksonville University is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, Commission on Colleges to award bachelor's, master's and doctoral degrees.
