    My Experience

I got a very solid education and have found the knowledge and textbooks current and relevant to nursing practice. It was not an easy program, there is no leniency regarding writing in APA format or turning in homework. It is like in real life - you can have an instructor you do not get along as much or a group project that is a terrible drag. I did not regret going to UoP. It prepared me more than well for graduate studies and thanks to the solid skills in writing, research, time management etc I transitioned into graduate school very well prepared.

    About The Staff

Most of my instructors were on the strict side of things and expectations varied but consistently high.

    Things To Know

Distance learning is not for everybody! The syllabus and grading criteria were very well written and clearly outlined the course and tasks. The advantage of UoP is that they have a lot of online education experience, which is reflected in the way they structure courses and the material. The online library with resources is most excellent! Easy to navigate and access to so many more items and specialty resources than my graduate school. As an alumni, I still have access to those resources and use them frequently to read in journals or do some research.
It was a very positive experience and I credit my success in graduate school in part to UoP for preparing me.
Group work can be a drag but it is like everything else in life - sometimes you just have to do it.

    My Experience

I completed the ADN to BSN in 2004 and then an MSN in Management and Leadership in 2005. I felt the instructors were well-qualified and followed the syllabus well.

    About The Staff

The instructors were all at least MSN-prepared and most were doctorally prepared.

    Things To Know

Writing papers of course was an integral part of the education but I felt that most assignments were congruent with the stated objectives. The only downfall was the inevitable "group projects" - grrr. Didn't care to have to try to get people to do the work. However, this is always an issue.
