What cracked me up today

you have to admit, students just come out with some doozies!

I just had one of my little cutie 2nd graders come in and go into a diatribe about how his allergies are bothering him. I explained to him that he could help himself feel better by drinking more, washing his hands and avoiding touching his face but that I could not personally do anything about the pollen or blooming plants in the environment. He got a thoughtful look on his face and said "I respect that." I respect that he respects that!

What cracked you up?

Didn't crack me up, just another :banghead: comment. I was out at a training for the past two day, had a sub in. One of my regular kids that comes in for his meds.

Student: "Were you out training to be a real nurse?"

Me: "Why would I do that? I am a real nurse."

Student: "No, I meant one that works at the hospital."

Me: "What would I want to leave working here and seeing you everyday?"

Student: "True."

Had a really rough week, but a 2nd grader just unintentionally turned it all around. Lots of classes had pajama parties today, and this child wore his footie PJs that zip from the ankle to the neck. And wouldn't you know it, today the zipper broke and his WHOLE FRONT came unzipped. He walked in holding it shut, looking like a showgirl showing off his leg through the slit.

The cherry on top? No underwear. This child nearly flashed everyone.

(We got some pants on over top of his onesie, and a t-shirt, and talked about how it's a good idea to have regular clothes on pajama day, just in case!)

Not as a school nurse, but I do a lot of babysitting and tutoring. One of my "regulars", a four year old boy, asked me if I was going home to my Mommy. I told him that my Mommy lives far away. He grew very concerned, and asked me what I do if I wake up in the middle of the night. I said that I don't have anyone to go to, and he said, " You can come to my Mommy's bed!"

Got to love them!
