Do you do a full set of vitals on every student that comes in not feeling well?

Depends on what they are complaining about. Respiratory issues - HR, RR, Temp, pulse ox; Headache - temperature; c/o dizzy - full set of vitals; vomit - temperature; chest pain complaints - full set of vitals; vague complaint of "not feeling well" - usually just temperature.

No.

See above for my guidelines as well, sans pulse ox, 'cause I don't have one.

No...

No...

Me neither... I almost never take BP or or pulse ox. I take temperature on almost everyone. I'll count respirations and take pulse ox for difficulty breathing. The pulse ox also gives me HR.

I'll take BP for dizzy or my druggies, lol. I haven't had chest pain yet.

I do take BPs on the teachers.

Nope. Mostly temps. Do check BP and P for dizziness, chest pain, etc ... Just whatever seems appropriate for the complaint.

no... chest pain perhaps unless they tell me they just ran the mile but beyond that just a temp if their complaint warrants it. and even that i've bought a non contact type so i can stop wasting probe covers on malingerers

Normally I do not take a full set of vitals for basic complaints. I will do full set for chest pain, on going headaches, dizziness and anything out of the ordinary that might warrant full vitals.

BP for dizziness; Temp-sometimes for headache (more so when they look flushed); pulse ox for difficulty breathing, BP and pulse ox-chest pain and fainting or almost fainting.

I bought a temporal one I can wipe down with alcohol wipes in between students. Timesaver. I double check with oral temp if I suspect a true fever.

Depends on need. Echo other posters here and I add in pain (5th vital) when indicated.
