So I didn't actually think I would get attached...

It's the last week for seniors here, and there are actually a few I'm going to miss! One just came and gave me a hug goodbye!

It gives me the feels! :)

I'm sure the seasoned school nurses already knew this, but man, it's a nice feeling to know that the kids actually did get something from me being here.

Oh, I'll be a mess! This is my daughter's senior year and I've known lots of these kids since preschool.

I am in Elementary and on the last day some of the 5th graders will come in to say goodbye and I am sometimes surprised at some of the nice things they say to me. I have run into some of them that were at my school 4-5 years ago and they will run up to me and hug me - it really is a nice feeling that I made a difference to someone.

When my 6th graders graduate and move on to the junior high I always get emotional about it. I love when they come back to visit me!

I've had some of these kids for 7 years if they started PK here. There are some I do the happy dance for them to move on and there are some I really will miss. It's a bittersweet part of this job. I hear ya.

Even though I'm "retired" from my job as school nurse (7 months now) I see kids all the time as we are a very small town. And I do get the waves and hugs from some of them. I was more attached to the elementary school kids. Spidey is just going into high school in the Fall so I'm sure when he is a Senior I'll feel the same. I've already seen three kids through high school.
