Where at in Ohio?

I shadowed a school in Trumbull County and the school nurse there makes $26 she said. I think she has been there for like 5 years she said. She started out at as a substitute.

They just increased the starting pay in my school district to $50,000. I'm in Texas.

Texas - $49K per year. My district pays same as teacher scale, did not give me credit for my nursing experience when I started. Paid over 12 months. Elementary school K-5 ~ 825 students. M-F 7:30-3:30. Contract for 187 days per year. I also get teacher retirement benefits when the time comes for that.

Same as AdobeRN and if I work Summer school, I get paid around $35/hour for the hours I work over the summer. I also work elementary and have a part-time clinic assistant which is nice. This is my fourth year school nursing. The nurses hired in my district have to be RNs with a BSN.

Can anyone chime in on Chicago (or suburbs surrounding Chicago) school nurse salary?

Arizona,

First year as school nurse. Three years a nurse and former paramedic. Pay is low at $ 36,000 year paid over 10 months. The hours work with my children so for me it is worth the low pay. It is exciting to be able to help families find resources in the community that will help them maintain their health!

@schoolRNapril:

Are you still in Indiana? My superintendent is planning on doing a salary survey and I wondered which county you are in? Indiana varies widely, so I'm looking for a lot of input.

Thanks! If you can pm me that would be great :)

IL (Chicago suburbs)- $25K/yr spread out over 12 months, so I only end up bringing home $750 twice a month after taxes. I absolutely LOVE the benefits, so Im trying not to complain or be negative about the pay

I'm an LPN in GA, I am on a salary, but the salary changes depending on how many days they decide they are going to have that school year. I was making $32, 000, but now only make $30, 000 :( basically, I get $20/hr.

I am a school nurse in the Ulster County NY. My salary is $30,000/year.

Southwest Virginia, 25,000.

Specializes in School Nursing, Hospice,Med-Surg.

24K in north Atlanta

I get summers off, spring break, fall break, winter break, etc. I work 8-3 on school days and it's fairly slow paced (most days!)

RN at a private school of just under 400 students. It's the lowest salary I've ever made but the most satisfying job I've ever had. I love my students, my co-workers, and my families. And this job works beautifully with my family schedule. My daughter goes to school here so I'm only at work when she's in school. If she has a snow day, so do I. I'm off when she's off in the summer and for holidays. It's really just a perfect scenario for our family.
