I received notification of a School Emergency Triage Training happening soon in Boston (offered through NASN). Has anyone taken this program or something similar you recommend?

I have not, but after reading I want to! I'm inquiring at my school about attending. Were you thinking attending the one offered in the Boston area that is running during the week of April vacation?

While I see a slight benefit in a non shooter incident, something along the lines of a chemistry experiment gone wrong, gym bleacher collapse, etc. A mass casualty shooter situation will have EMS/police/fire on scene before you could use any of your training.

So, I'm signed up for this training next week during my break - might I see anyone else there? :)

It actually filled up quick! I registered pretty soon after it was announced and now there is a waiting list only. But I've heard great things so I am looking forward to it.

All of the nurses in my district attended it and it was by far the best PD day we have ever had. I HIGHLY recommend it because it goes over not just what to do in MCEs but how to create a emergency response team in your school that isn't just made out of people who are assigned to the group. It lists out examples roles and responsibilities and links that back to events. I updated all of our emergency plans in my school and because of this training my principal jumped on board when I offered the Stop the bleed training a few months after.
