Keeping resolutions, school nurse style

So admittedly, I don't always practice what I preach. I am horrible at drinking water or anything really throughout the day. I have made up a new for myself to help keep my New Year's resolution to drink more water. Every time I tell a student to drink water, I take a drink. Boy, am I hydrated! :roflmao:

You literally just posted what I have been thinking! I'm sick of not getting a lunch break. As a result, I eat lunch over 90 minutes, get a headache, and go home tired. Everyone else gets a break! I don't mind it when a student is seriously ill but not for papercuts, etc. Good for you!

I love this! I usually come in and make myself a cup of coffee, which I usually end up pouring most of it out because it got cold. And then I fill up my water and it is usually still full by the end of the day because I just forget about drinking it. And like you said, all day long I ask the little ones to drink more water and I never do it myself!

PTSA got us a cold water dispenser with Sonic-style ice (Sonic is a food chain here in TX and they have the BEST ice). I'm already 3500 steps into the day and I just took a drink of water in your honor

Also, you're increasing your physical activity from the trips to the restroom.

Yep! I have a 32 oz tumbler on my desk that I have been making sure I finish twice while at work... between that and coffee, I'm in the bathroom quite a bit!

Kinda like a neti pot for your urinary tract?

I'm good with the water but it's the snacking that gets the best of me - we almost always have some kind of nibbly piece of goodness in the office or lounge - my willpower is weak when it comes to cookies.

I am trying to avoid grains before dinner, and bam, first day back we have a birthday breakfast. I ate a banana and bagged a slice of cinnamon cake for later.
