HELLO FROM THE OTHER SIIIIDE!

I miss all of you. I haven't logged on since my last day of school and I wanted to check in and say hi.

I am no longer part crab, I am back to being 100% tomato. I returned to Jersey a few weeks ago and last Monday I started my new job as an assistant nursing director at a subacute rehab center. I crossed into the dark side of administration! I have a lot to learn.

I hope everyone is doing well. I hope to be able to check in periodically (when I'm not taking hour long lunches and shopping while ignoring requests from my nurses... that's what administrator do, right?)

Nope, that's not what administrators do. Anyway, you will find out soon. It is not easy being a Nurse leader. They do not get a lot of appreciation for what they do by their bosses and by Nurses.

Keep us updated as you transition into this new role. Good Luck!

Oh trust me, I never REALLY thought that was what administrators do ;) Just a joke.

It's been a transition.

I feel stupid in my lab coat, for one. I have to wear real clothes which is weird.

I did my first inservice yesterday and felt bad for every time I, as a floor nurse, I rolled my eyes at an educator asking us to please sit for 10 minutes to listen to a presentation about a new piece of equipment.

I am finding myself wondering if my school has hired a new nurse yet.

Staffing is the DON's call, not mine, but she is very good about taking acuity into account. Thankfully!
