How to get IDPH Vision and Hearing certified

Hello,

I was hoping someone could help me figure out how to go about getting IDPH Vision and Hearing certified. I have searched endlessly through the IDPH website and googled it, but can't for the life of me find it. There is a substitute school nurse postition I want to apply for that requires this certification. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance,

Kim

I don't know if this will help you but...is there any State Department of ___________ in your state. Like as in a civil service dept.

Here in New Jersey, we have the Marie Katzenbach School for the Deaf, and also the NJ Commission for the Blind. If I struck out thru google or that IDPH website, these NJ depts would be my next contacts for infor. Maybe they could give me some direction.

Don't know if you have anybody like that wherever you are. You might also want to call a local audiologist. Just FYI, I checked my phonebook that's coincidently sitting on my table next to me. There's a New Jersey Board of Audiology and Speech Language Pathology, located in Newark, NJ, where our Board of Nursing is located too. So, I'd be giving them a call also.

Maybe somebody in your area might be able to help you and give you some information?? Good luck!

PS might you try a local hosp to talk to a speech therapist for direction?
