And a Starbucks card from the recalcitrant T1D kid. With a hand-written recommendation to try the salted caramel mocha....

I got a check from the PTO. 170.00. I'll take it! At the hospital, we get a cafeteria dinner for free, so anything is nice. I like how the PTO does it in our district-- they send a letter to the families stating that they are collecting for the specials teachers/nurse/office staff, then they divide up what they get. It made it easy, as a parent in the district, to write on check rather than buying a bunch of small gift cards (families are also welcome to do that). I always make sure that my daughter gets a little something for the nurse, too. This year, the nurse at her school has been super supportive and a good resource for me (she subbed a lot at my school until I was hired).

Lotion, candy, LOTS of baked goods (which have now caused me to have a tummy ache. Can I go home early?)

Cool! I haven't gotten anything, but we're also in school until 12/22.

While we're on the topic, I'd like to get things for my daughter's teachers. Are gift cards the way to go? I usually get amazon cards for them, but is that boring? I personally love gift cards, but I'm just wondering if there's something else I should think of. (I should add that I'm not crafty and won't do any Pinterest-y projects).

I think teachers LOVE gift cards. I always get my girls' teachers a fun GC that is just for them (Starbucks and Cheesecake Factory, this year) and something that they can use for school supplies (usually it's Lakeshore Learning) since they can't use district money for the fun stuff like stickers and things.

The school foundation gave me a $50 gift card to Starbucks. And 2 more Starbucks gift cards and scented candle. The principal and vice got me a Starbucks gift card with a big white fluffy blanket (because I stay cold). My diabetic child got me Ghirardelli chocolates gift set. But the biggest gift of all, is one more day and it's HOLIDAY BREAK!!!!!
