High School Nurse Interview, please advise

Hello,

I graduated in March 2011 and since August 2011 I have been working as a Home Health nurse ( Hospice and chronic illness).

I applied for a High School Nurse position and I have NO idea what they are going to ask me.

For you seasoned school nurses- would you please please provide me with some questions that are most common and how to answer them?

I have never been on a panel interview and I'm freaking out.

Interview is this Friday.

Thank you!!

I'm not a seasoned nurse. Just be prepared to answer behavioral questions and the general interview questions. They may give you different scenarios and may ask what student would you see first. Remember ABC's when answering these types of questions. Wishing you luck.

They will probably ask how the experience you have as a home health nurse, would benefit you as a school nurse?

Are you comfortable working on your own, (not just for one patient) at a time but to be responsible for 1000+ students and staff.

are you organized? most HS nurses are responsible for all the paperwork re: physicals for sports, our school has over 15 sports and each kid needs clearance from the nurse in order to compete.

Good luck on interview!

They may ask about mandatory reporting, sexually active adolescents, teaching in health class, immunization compliance, screenings, delegation of nursing tasks. Is there a job description? That might be helpful for you.Good luck!
