So, I had a kiddo take a hard fall at recess las week. Overall, okay, but had several abrasions that included a pretty nasty gash to his knee. No stitches needed.

I saw him in the office this week and popped my head to ask him how he is....he says: "I'm doing good! My mom has a friend who's a real nurse, and he put some butterfly bandages on my knee and wrapped it up!"

I know the kid is only 10, but geeze. "Real Nurse?" I have RN after my name, too, kiddo.

I'm not a nurse yet but I thought that was too funny. I have a kid under ten and I know how they are about bandages they dont need. I better go stock up on some band aids now...lol

Aww, that made me sad to read. What a slap in the face... I know it's a kid, so he probably doesn't realize it's a hurtful thing to say. But still. :(

Umm, LPN's are "real nurses" too, remember? I'm an LPN School Nurse and proud of it!

Yes LPNS are real nurses too. :yes: My sister is an LPN and shes proud of it. And im proud of her.

Ouch! Kids say the darndest things, don't they?

I have a student that keeps telling me his mom used to be a nurse, I'm pretty sure she was housekeeping at a SNF.
