I just wanted to let you know that lately I been scared about possibly having Thyroid cancer.

I been diagnosed with Hypothyroidism since I was 15 (I'm 27 now) and been on Levothyroxine forever. I noticed my neck looks larger than usual and I was really worried that it can be cancer. I went to a new doctor because I felt my old Endocrinologist wasn't doing me justice and just would order blood work and not do anything more than that.

I was on 75 mcg since I was 15!

I went to this doctor and they upped my dosage, saying that I should of been on a higher dosage and are working with me to fix my diet and do better choices. They also did my ultrasound of my neck, and there's nothing. All clear. I was so happy and as well they took me off Metaformin, which I been also taking since 15 and I always felt awful. They told me my A1c is completely normal and there's no reason for me to take it anymore.

Now all I have to do is keep eating healthier, takes some vitamins and just exercise. I'm hoping I'll lose weight soon!

Happy to hear this!!!

I have nodes on my thyroid and have had ultrasounds as well as other diagnostic tests. No meds yet, as my bloodwork has all been fine.

You just reminded me to make my appointment. Thanks.

Yes! I had so many fights with my NP and doctor about the Metaformin and Levothyroxine! I do have Insulin Resistance but my blood glucose has always been completely normal. They wanted me to take 500mg 3 x day and for me that was too much, I would get so sick during the day.

I felt super fatigue and when I finished up school and was working at clinics and such, my knowledge increased, I started to ask if they could do ultrasounds of my neck and that I was very fatigued, if they could up my dosage, but they would tell me no, that I should keep doing the same therapy.

Have you ever tried Armour Thyroid? I was on Levothyroxin, then Synthroid, and neither worked. Endo switched me to Armour and there was a whole complete different feeling. I also had neck swelling and it was a multinodular goiter, non cancerous.

Good luck on your journey and glad you're cancer free.

Don't trust the bloodwork! I say this because I went undiagnosed for years because my blood thyroid levels were normal. One day I had a galactic meltdown on my doctor and he did a thyroid ultrasound which revealed a multinodular goiter but my blood levels were perfectly normal!

As a result, I have tons of other medical problems. For years doctors kept telling me nothing was wrong as though I was a hypochondriac but I was legit ill. Had I not yelled at my doctor at that time I would be dead now as my heart has tremendously suffered.
