It means the kids can't go outside and no tether ball, basketball, or any head injuries.

    WOOHOO!!

This year alone I've treated a dozen PE injuries. All from ball-type sports (basket-, volley-, kick-). All indoors!! Halleluiah for the rainy day schedule.

Until they start running to the walls inthe gym...

I wish our indoor gym time was safer, but alas. Our PE teachers have the kids play a game called Boccer, a cross between soccer and basketball. Indoor game, lots of concussions, face hits with a kicked volleyball. I hate that segment of PE. One of the concussions was the teacher! Did that stop them from playing the game in class......umm nope!

WOW, you have a long time off! LUCKY!!

The only good thing about the school I am now, is that it was built in 1800's so no separate room for a gym or a cafeteria! And outdoor space is limited as well to blacktop, which we can't go out during the cold weather or now that it is covered in ice and snow. So I agree with you, I love when it is indoor recess and gym!

We called our basketball/soccer combo Smash Ball and I loath it. I had one very tall kid hit their head on our rusty outdoor basketball rim last year. I suppose he was lucky all he ended up with was a 3 inch gash and several stitches.

Until they decide to dive after an inside recess toy and bang their head on the desk/chair/floor
