Great news!! Well, not great that the kid has migraines, but great that it isn't anything scarier than that!!!

YAAAS! In my world a neuro consult is week in coming. So glad your advocacy and spidey senses helped this along.
The nurse that mentored me made a great point. Obviously the doc (who I am familiar with) trusted my gut sense to go ahead and pre order testing at ER. It showes I have credibility. I agree and it feels good. But it feels even better to have had a negative MRI!!!!

    Awesome!!!

I have never worked neurology and I'm curious- how do they arrive at the diagnosis of migraine for this? Is it a matter of ruling out differentials?

Thank goodness, when I saw your post earlier you mentioned neuroblastoma and I thought you were saying that they found a neuroblastoma. So relieved it is migraines and not anything deadly!

Yes, reading the thread I thought the same thing! Phew, I am glad he was negative.

Just as well he was scanned; even if there had been a history of migraines I'd have still wanted my kid scanned. That all-clear probably helped Mom's health more than anyone elses.

Great assessment, and great result. Can't get much better than that (and I had no idea that migraines, especially of the ocular nature, happen in kids)
