Did I Just Roll My Eyes Out Loud?

  1. I was met this morning on the way to my office by a student saying, "They need you at your office, some one is hurt." Okay.....

I round the corner and there sits one of my biggest SNOWFLAKES with an aide at his side. As soon as she looks at me I mouth, "Really!?" and I do believe I rolled my eyes. She just shook her head and said yes. I'm so glad he had his eyes closed. Long story short, mom was here by 815 to pu Snowflake.

6 more days people, 6 more days!!!! Can we keep it together? Especially for the next 2 days, since they are my daughters last 2 days.

I had 3 in my office with their bookbags still on this AM. They got to their classroom doors, whined to their teachers and got sent to the clinic. Teachers are just done. I am seeing a marked increase in my numbers these last few days.

Me too. I have seen so many kids in the last few days right after recess, which indicates the teachers aren't even trying. (If they were well enough to play at recess, they should be well enough to stay away from the nurse, unless they were INJURED at recess)It has gotten crazy hot this week after being chilly/rainy/breezy last week, so it may be overheated and dehydrated kids, but the teachers usually have them cool off and drink water after recess and before seeing me. They are tired. But I sort of want to tell the teachers I am also tired...please give me a break!

This is something I've never been able to prevent from getting under my skin; from kids and adults but mostly adults. Do you really think I would walk into my office and not realize someone is in there if you hadn't told me????? My favorite is, "You have a customer!" I think when I've decided on my last year of school nursing I'm gonna hit everyone who says that to me in the face with a shovel.

Our school starts at 9:30. Quite a few boys are usually here by 8 and play basketball on the outdoor courts. Yesterday, our busiest time and most sent home was between 8:00-9:30. I know it's full-contact basketball!

that's gonna be a short year.

When I worked at the junior high there was at least one kid outside my office every single morning when I would arrive. I would tell them that they have to wait until I have settled and booted up my computer.

Oh my, yes. I had forgotten how brutal it was until I watched my first high school basketball game. And just think they do it without protective gear.

Just the title alone on this post is cracking me the heck up!!!! I love that we all have similar issues. It's ridiculous to say the least!

My favorite line was from the over dramatic preschool assistant bringing in a student shouting, "We got a bleeder!!"

Ummm, no, we don't. There was a dry speck of blood under the child's nostril.

I had one yesterday come in holding a Kleenex to her nose. I asked to see how bad it was. She pulled the Kleenex away. Nothing. Not a single drop. ?????

I have the eyeroll out loud look on a good day. I am pretty sure it is coming out all the time now. I really am trying to control it. Really!

I know everyone is having problems this close to the end of the year. We are almost there.
