Did I Just Roll My Eyes Out Loud?

I was met this morning on the way to my office by a student saying, "They need you at your office, some one is hurt." Okay.....

I round the corner and there sits one of my biggest SNOWFLAKES with an aide at his side. As soon as she looks at me I mouth, "Really!?" and I do believe I rolled my eyes. She just shook her head and said yes. I'm so glad he had his eyes closed. Long story short, mom was here by 815 to pu Snowflake.

6 more days people, 6 more days!!!! Can we keep it together? Especially for the next 2 days, since they are my daughters last 2 days.

"Dear Kids, It's May. I'm done. Dad's done. Your coaches? Yep, Done. Piano teacher? Her too. Bus Driver? Toast. Your teacher? SHE IS SO DONE. Do us all a favor and parent yourself for the next few weeks. Godspeed kiddos!"

I just wanted to scream, "NOOOOOOO!" This always happens at the end. The kids try everything to cut class, the teachers fold, the parents give in to everything, and it all falls into our laps. Congratulations, guys. We are all parents to hundreds of our own kids who don't want to be parented by anyone else. I currently have 315 of my very own unruly kids.

It goes to show that the majority of my daily visits are snowFAKErs.

Awesome.

There wouldn't BE so many kids in here if staff members like YOU didn't send them for every single hiccup! (That's not just a figure of speech, by the way. I actually had a child in here for hiccups yesterday)

I've had a kid sent for hiccups too. :eyeroll:

I've seen these posts too labeled #4thquarterparenting

I get the mindset, I really do. I am less concerned with homework and reading with my third graders. (But we get it done. Might have missed reading one night last week). Snacks that I usually set out the night before are being tossed in baggies as I gulp coffee in the morning. Folders are held together with duct tape. One. More. Week.

^^^^

My personal 10th grader is totally on her own at this point. I'm so tired after work I just can't. Everything is duct taped and we'll end the year with three flat tires but we'll make it!

So today I had a student vomit all over the hallway and the teacher that witnessed it got mad that I didn't come running. Did I mention that no one called me? My magic 8 ball must be broke. Then she was mad that I made the student walk to my office (30 feet). I swear I could see through the back of my head with the eye roll I gave her.

Teacher induced vomitus paralysis. Not sure why they think a kid who vomits simultaneously loses the ability to walk.

Oh my, Yes!!!!! And when you say something the LD have attitude. I kind of hate this time of year because of the "We're all done attitude."

I have had this happen to me. Like, what would I do if I did run to the site of the vomiting? And unless there is also a leg fracture to go with the vomiting, I am neither carrying a student nor getting a wheelchair.

Yes, I have carried students in off the playground before. And I may or may not have remarked "NurseBeans is strong like bull" as I did it.

What's up with kids nowadays? When I was in elementary, I went to the nurse once in 8 years. In high school I went once in 4 years.what's wrong with biting the bullet?

I love the School Nurses site!

:roflmao:Love the title of this thread!

Prior to last year when I discovered it, I had no clue what y'all have to do, go through, endure (and enjoy!) as a School Nurse. It is a lot more complicated than I ever realized, and mah gawd the paperwork . . . I could not do School Nursing and remain sane. Kudos to you all!

P.S.:I want to be there when OldDude wields the shovel; can I bring a few folks with me to sneak them into the crowd he is going to 'impress'?? They really do need a shoveling in the worst way!

I honestly can't remember what the middle school nurse looked like, let alone where her office was. As far as high school, I went there to sign up for blood drives and nothing else. Kids are so soft. I'm telling you, these are the people that grow into adults who go to the ER for toothaches and abdominal pain x30 minutes.

My nurse in my middle school was done I guess with being a school nurse. I only visited her a few times and the only time I did it various of times in a matter of days was when I had an allergic reaction to the chili in my school that caused me to have horrible migraines and vomit. I was sent there various of times by the teacher and the nurse didn't do anything, sent me back to class. I don't remember if she tried to call my mom or not but it got pretty bad. But one day it just stopped because I didn't eat the chili. Since then I haven't eaten chili until I was in college because I was so afraid of it.

High School I didn't even bother the nurse unless it was important and the only time I was in the nurse's all the time was when I was a senior and I was a health assistant for my schedule in the morning and I was minding the clinic for her.

Basically I sucked it up when I was sick and I never bothered my nurses but now these kids? They always need to visit me all the time.

This same SNOWFLAKE came in again to day and was literally rolling his eyes. I took all I had to not to laugh out loud. He was trying to go home. See his sister has a form a seizures where her eyes do rollup. I just could not do did. I called mom and in talking to her I keep talking until she picks up on what I am saying and said, "Is he faking?" Well, I did not come right out and say yes, but she did get it and told him to say at school.:banghead:
