Cheers to school nurses

First, yes Mrs. C knows this a I called to thank her personally.

Thank you all for being a safe haven for my oft complicated special needs child (though not really medically complicated). He knows rather than be embarrassed by unlicensed paraprofessionals (which Mrs M stopped as soon as she was notified) he can ask for a nurse pass without question. Thanks for letting him when he was in first & second grade try out the unlimited pass to see if it really worked.

Thanks for communicating with each other. Poor kid is on his fifth school in six years. Yes I can send in all the paperwork and give suggestions but sometimes nurse to nurse tips are even better...and I'm a nurse though my school nursing is limited to 1:1 care of technology dependent and medically complex/fragile children (thanks to their school nurses who let me care for my clients but are there for support and resources (or a bathroom break) as needed.

Thanks for reminding his teachers of his unique provisions in his IEP and following up. There was a minor backslide yesterday and your confidence and finding out just how to handle it (not accusatory and encouraging independence with follow up) my son for the first time outside of home was able to take care of his needs with only support and verbal cuing.

Thanks for supporting my child in what could have been a majorly ego scarring situation. And he even spontaneously told me about it after school with pride.

Thank you for understanding his unique needs even though you have 500 hormonal middle schoolers to also care for each day.

I'm still surprised how shocked the school nurses are when my son drops off his thank you gifts each year. Well your effort is noticed and appreciated.

Thank you for taking the time to thank your nurse! I've never been thanked by a parent despite the hundreds of meds, 504's/iep's, and other support I've given...

I have been thanked by some parents and some teachers and it means a lot. Thank you for writing this. And for thanking the nurse.
