NEIT Nursing

Hello everyone!

I'm starting New England tech's nursing program Oct 2013. Is anyone else? I'm also interested in getting an opinion from current or former students of their program so I can know what to look forward to and how I can be readily prepared!?! Thanks all in advance!

i absolutely love NEIT!

it is such a great school and the teachers genuinely care about you and how you are doing. there are so many student services that are free to all students. our simulation lab is crazy like such high tech equipment and the sim dummies are so life.... they do everything a live person can so its nuts. all the teachers ive worked with so far are really nice and are there for you whenever you need them. the only complaint i have is that most of the higher up people dont always answer your emails if you need something so that can be annoying at times.

the school is pricey but if you think about it .....you get what you pay for.

PM me if you want to talk more!

Hello! I have to take the Kaplan in 2 weeks and hopefully I will start in Oct. as well!!

Well good luck with the Kaplan! Definitely use the packet that they give you to study for it. Everything you need is in the packet and apparently I didn't know that until after my test lol. If you start in October we'll be classmates!!

I passed the Kaplan and will be starting oct 13th!!!! I can't wait!

Congratulations!! And thanks! Any tips?

Considering this school as an option. Did either of you have a prior degree before enrolling? How long did it take you to complete the program? How much did it cost?

curlybee,

I'm currently a quarter 5 NEIT nursing student. If you're looking into any other schools I highly suggest sticking with those schools and avoiding NEIT. The tuition price is through the roof, the entire program is $56000. The price of tuition would not be so bad if you were getting what you pay for, but that is not the case. The sim lab is very nice but there isn't enough staff, so don't expect to use it that often. Clinical placements are a joke, when you are there you are treated like a CNA. The school basically says to just do what they say to do because "we need them more than they need us"! They are increasing class/clinical sizes so they get more money, but there is not enough staff for the number of students. I don't have an issue with the nursing lecture instructors; healthcare communications, nutrition and pharmacology are a waste of time and money! I consistently get high b's and a's in school but I don't feel as though I am prepared for the field at all! Like I said, unless NEIT is your absolute last resort I would avoid it...

sgo1989,

Thanks for your honesty. I was looking into NEIT . I'm not sure I want to pay nearly $60 K and not feel prepared to work as a nurse.
