Ccri credits

U.S.A. Rhode Island

Published

Hi. My youngest son is starting school in September and I am thinking of going back to ccri for nursing. I started a little over 5 years ago with nursing as my major. I did one semester of pre-rec course. Then I stopped due to becoming pregnant.

I am am wondering if my credits wil still be good after 5 years??? Also, I work full time on 2nd shift. Is the nursing program due able working full time? How long does it take?

Your credits are good forever, but some of the prereqs may need to be repeated to be more recent. You'll have to check with the colleges to which you're applying. I have some credits (ironically, a few from CCRI!) that are 10 or more years old and still work toward my degree.

Working full time during a program will be impossible, or close to it. I'm sure some people have managed it, and hats off to them, but nursing programs are incredibly intense, and you can't do both justice and maintain your sanity and your health. Forget keeping the house clean or loved ones from feeling neglected- those all happen in the nursing program whether you're working or not! I tried to work part time when I started, but my boss wasn't very understanding, and between all of that and having a family and home stuff, I had to let the job go. The final semester finally took out my running, which is my stress relief. That was a hard blow!!

I know people who have graduated and worked full-time during the program its hard but definitely can be done. The only course that I know of that expires for the program is physiology..It's only good for 5 years if it has gone over 5 years since you've taken it then u would have to retake before applying.
