CNA II training for lifespan???

Congrats on becoming a CNA, I know you must be pretty excited (I know I was!) Anyway, I was a relatively new CNA when I got hired by Lifespan and I had some of the same questions that you have. If you are hired you will either be a float CNA or hired onto a specific floor and the training is usually a month or so for CNAs. On the first day you have an orientation to the hospital you work at (Rhode Island, Miriam, Newport or Bradley) done by Human Resources which covers the basics about working for Lifespan. For the next month you have your orientation on the floor that covers the CNA basics as well as learning how to do phlebotomy and EKGs. I was a phlebotomist and did EKGs before I was hired to Lifespan so my training was different but my friend who is a CNA did about 10 - 15 supervised venipunctures and 10 supervised EKGs before she was on her own. To be honest its really not a big deal, you just go in there and do what you need to do and you will be fine. If you get hired and are willing to put in some effort and enthusiasm then you will learn a lot from being a hospital CNA. Good luck and let me know how it goes.

I am a new CNA grad looking for a job and i really want to work in a hospital as a cna II too. i have heard hospitals dont usually hire new grads so do you have any advice for me ? id really appreaciate as i am also a nursing student at ccri starting next year and i really want to be in a hospital.
