What is involved in moving a long expired license to just inactive status ?

  1. 0 I will not be working as a nurse but am working in a field where it would be beneficial if I could still put the RN after my name. Can I just pay a fee and be back on inactive status- or is there more involved ? Thanks in advance!!

You need to contact your state BON and ask them that question.

Let us know what you find out.

When renewal time came I took the inactive option offered by the BON. I can still sign RN but have to put a small i. after The RN.(RN i) To reactivate it I would need to either take the NCLEX or do a refresher, clinicals, and a number of CEs. Your BON is the answer place.

I am in SC other boards will be different in their requirements
