Good Morning, Retiress,

SCOOT OVER, RETIREES, A NEW ONE HAS JOINED YOUR MIDST
i have been working private duty, on call at a rehab and at a ltc but i have not worked on a schedule for a couple of years now
the past few months i have decided to hang it up, the constant being on my feet is not doing me well
i still need some extra cash now and again and i am thinking of taking a class in medical coding or perhaps transcription
i believe that a background in nursing would be helpful in these types of jobs
checking on this thread to join up with all in similiar situation
never made my retirement official before now

Hi Dale, have only now seen this thread! I've been away seeing my boy!
CONGRATULATIONS on your retirement! It's something we all look forward to and anticipate but when it actually happens, we're a bit in disbelief.

I wish you a long and happy and fulfilling retirement. It can take some adjusting to, and there's even times when we think we might prefer to return to the nursing workforce. Then, before you know it, you're so busy with all kinds of fun things to do, you forget about any ideas such as returning to work! lol

For me allnurses has been the porthole by which I remain informed and updated with the happenings. Us older members have much to offer here and the friendships forged are wonderful.

Again, CONGRATULATIONS and much happiness in the years ahead.
