Endorsement of inactive RN license to Texas

  1. Hi guys,

I just passed the Maryland NCLEX-RN in June and surprisingly received a mail from the Maryland board of nursing requesting me to take a refresher course in order to be issued an active license.

The problem is that I am moving to TEXAS in a few months. And I need to endorse my license to Texas.

Does anyone know if I can endorse an inactive RN Maryland license to Texas and if necessary take the refreshing courses in Texas? I just learned about the six months temporary license in Texas and here is my second question, is possible to have a job with that temporary license and take the refresher course at the same time?

Sorry if I posted the topic in the wrong place.

Generally only active licenses are eligible for endorsement

This was my same question. Does anyone know if Oklahoma will allow this with an inactive license in Texas

Again endorsement is generally restricted to unencumbered active licenses. You likely need to reactivate your TX license to endorse.

I don't understand how someone who just passed NCLEX is not eligible for an active nursing license. Are you a recent graduate? Or have several years passed since you graduated, but you only recently passed NCLEX for the first time?

If you are a recent graduate, then I question if there is a mistake by the BON in failing to issue your license.

If you graduated a number of years ago and only recently passed NCLEX for the first time, then I understand the rationale for a refresher.

Oklahoma allows for inactive licenses to endorse. I wanted to reply incase another nurse needs this option.
