What is the difference between Clinical study coordinator and research coordinator?
Oct 18, '16
Here in the UK, the two terms are interchangeable - the job role is the same.
My hospital trust and the university we're affiliated with both use "Clinical Trials Coordinator", but several of the commercial sponsors we deal with use the term "Research Coordinator".
Hope that helps!
I agree with Phil but some institutions may have a difference, i.e Research Coordinator may not necessarily deal with Clinical Trials. They may deal with non clinical trials like studies that are more epi based. Another difference is that depending on the job description, the CTCs are usually paid more since they have a lot more responsibility. I used to work at a well known cancer hospital in Florida and this was the case there. But the organization I work for now uses the terms interchangeably.
Hope this helps!
